The C-Note: Why You Need To Expand Your Rolodex

The C-Note is a section for short, bits of advice to expand your network and money off-the-beaten path.

And you’re not going to this in a cube, or behind a computer screen.

There are several careers that’ll have you mixing and mingling with hi-profile connections in no time.  Some people are resigned to the office job, but for those that like to socialize and revel in our capitalist ideals of “who you know, not what you know”, it’s about building relationships.

It starts at schools like Sidwell and continues post-college.  But if you never had the chance when you were younger, there’s still an opportunity to get new skills and challenge yourself around new environments.

Below are some professions that aren’t too grinding (I mean, 9-5 wise) and can fit in part-time or as a side-business:

–Selling hi-end residential real estate

–Selling private jets or chartering private jets

–Receptionist at hi-end art gallery or luxury car showroom

–Publicist/Personal Assistant to Hi-Profile Couple or Individual

–Modeling

–Flight Attendant

–Part time work at non profits

–Ski instructor in Aspen

Well, why are you still sitting there?  Start making those phone calls, because you won’t find these online.
