Is First Lady Michelle Obama Better Than Secretary Hillary Clinton? Let’s look at the facts:
1. Michelle stands by her man all the time. Hillary does too, but only in the time of trouble. Throughout the presidential campaign, Michelle has been, now President Obama’s, #1 Supporter. That is as it should be. Hillary on the other hand was clearly seen when Bill got in a little bit of ”trouble” because it meant that her personal/political agenda was also in trouble.
2. Michelle lets her man be in charge. Hillary does not. We all know that Michelle runs the show behind the closed doors of the White House but in public she takes a back seat and allows her husband be the Man of the Hour. It takes real strength to be humble and allow the praise and power shower all go to your husband. We remember when Bill Clinton got elected, Hillary had her own agenda of changing the healthcare system. Although the idea was great, it clouded Bill in his ability to take action as President.
3. Michelle is a lady first. She exudes class, style, sexiness and intelligence without flaunting it to the media. Her strength is second to none yet she is caring and nurturing. Hillary on the other hand is harsh. Harsh in her dress, tone and actions. She does her best to hide her sexuality to deal in the land of men in Washington. Perhaps she should take a lesson from Michelle.
As time passes and we watch the Obama presidency, we can only hope that Michelle will continue as she is. We as alpha females should look to Michelle and take notes on the way she embodies the true traits of an alphanista. Just my $.02.

I dont like neither!
I like Hillary.
I think they bring different strengths, Hillary and Bill are rock solid, they been thru it ya’ll. Michelle is too early to tell if Obama got caught cheating I see Michelle writing an article for Essence or something about it!
@Jada Please explain why neither of these women meet your approval. Would love to hear your view.
I like Hilary, I don’t think she was overshadowing President Clinton at all; he allowed her to have the healthcare it was a big undertaking and he knew she could handle it. I don’t see how the Healthcare System clouded his vision he was still able to be a very successful president and we were in good times with our budget on target.
Hilary, stood by her man in hard times, she was the one that saved him and informed the lawyers how to handle the situation. Hilary and Michelle are different people. Hilary always wanted the presidency, US just was not ready for it in her time. And yes women in her age group had to be strong like the men to get their message across; look at most of the ladies of her era the baby boomers they had to wear the pants suits or just suits to compete and fight for that respect.
Michelle can tone it down now because society has gain more respect for women; yet people will look at her as the mom, the wife that dresses nice. We really don’t want to go back to the Kennedy days; not that they were bad – but that is who they are comparing Michelle to. We know she runs the show at home but so did Hilary and she was able to stand up to any man when the time calls for it; which was when her husband got in trouble.
I like both of these women but you are comparing Apples to Oranges. These are two different types of women. Let’s respect each for their true value.
Political wives are just not authentic. They can’t be themselves! Michelle seems phony; Hillary just says whatever is gonna keep her name alive; Michelle just smiles and waves. She hasn’t said or done anything profound but dress nice. Hillary is where she is because of Bill; Period.

Hmmm… they’re both strong and successful in their own way. Michelle has not chosen the political arena as her career path, Hilary has. Hilary stayed focused on her goal despite public embarrassment of her husband’s indiscretions. That takes guts and I give Hilary a lot of nods for that. I would bailed out on Bill’s ass. Anywho, Michelle is well accomplished in her own right as a lawyer, College board member amongst other things. Her spotlight shines brighter b.c her husband is the current “Chosen One” and Bill was the “Old Cool President.” Michelle personifies the Man being the head of the family, but the Woman being the Neck. She appears to steer the direction while allowing Barack his own sense of control. Good to see that. Maybe it will give Black Men a sense of pride and see that there is value in marriage. *Hey ya neva know*

Anyway, when Bill Clinton got elected as President, Hillary thought she was Vice-President as opposed to being the first lady. Her stand on healthcare was one I was proud of but I feel that she needed to guide the steps of her husband Bill to take care of it. In the end, Bill had to tell Hillary to stop promoting her own agenda. Plus, she ended up taking contribution funds from the healthcare industry to keep her mouth shut.
I agree with you that these are completely different “styles” of women who hold their own, but I do think that Michelle does it with more grace.
