Stuff Single Black Women Like: Bubble Baths W/Candles

October 30, 2008

Granted, most women like bubble baths.  But single black women somehow justify taking a bubble bath by candle light as another good reason not to have a man.  A man who may usually walk in and fart up the bathroom destroying the whole ambiance.  Single black women make a ritual out of this.  They cancel plans if need be, pop in a Maxwell or Mary J Blige (sad Mary, not happy Mary) CD and call it “me time” soaking in bubbles as if by the 30th time it hasn’t gotten boring doing this alone.  They don’t forget the champagne and wine.  Must be nice…

I’m single and I love a good bubble bath—but it’s not a replacement for having a man. I do it because it’s relaxing. I didn’t know it was seen as a ritual to some. You learn something new every day.

got a single sister who does this like its one of the benefits to being single and tries to make my wife jealous because she cant take baths because shes so busy; but when my sister leaves we just talk about her “we need to find her a man!”

lol Larry. Your wife can do this :)
In fact, you can set it up for her—that would be so romantic.

I look at it like this, we all need to bathe so taking a few extra minutes to add bubble bath to the water isn’t asking for too much.

When I was single, I did this and it was awesome, and I saw it as a ritual, because a lot went into it. I had to make my trip to The Body Shop, or Body Works, pick out the right candle for whatever the mood. Fresh flowers, to give the house that wonderful aroma. And yes the ringer went off. Married w/ Children now, and somewhere that “me time” got lost, but this blog post has helped me to remember that I need to, need to take that time for myself, regardless!

Got something to say?
