Stuff Single Black Women Like #3: Life Coaches
December 2, 2008
One thing about most single black women is that if they are single they believe, either consciously or subconsciously that something is wrong with them. It’s either they have too much money, intimidate men, don’t meet any men, are overweight, are underweight, butt isn’t big enough, over educated, have children, don’t have children, not enough positive thoughts, not have enough standards, not low enough standards are just some of the faults they may find. To fix this they may hire a life coach or take a “class” for self improvement. Like, I said some single black women. Of course, there are single black women who are perfect and have nothing that is wrong with them. If that’s what you’re thinking, then you found your first problem.
At Friday night drinks with her girls, you may find her shooting off an email to her life coach that is the homework for the week or blurting out what her new coach said about why she can’t attract men. It makes her feel good and productive that now finally someone else is telling her what she is doing wrong, than just herself. Now that she has a life coach, she can do her 1 year marriage plan and business plan. Just like that. Funny thing, the 1 year business plan takes off without a hitch. The other thing, well, she’s signing up for another year. Another friend and her coach were able to form a plan to meet her mate. It’s true that some people need structure and accountability to find that love. But what about the people who do this without a life coach?
Generally speaking, if you have some extra change, a life coach is a good buy. Just make sure you live your life while you’re being coached. Click on this for other “stuff” single black women like.
