Five Quickies To Give Your Alpha

March 13, 2009

Grilled cheese sammy...

Grilled cheese sammy...

This weekend, stock up.

Here are five foods to keep in your kitchen for your Alpha.  These are all quick, easy, last minute preps because we know how our alphas love to surprise and are very spontaneous.  And remember, alphas like to eat, feed your man!

1)   Shrimp, frozen okay, so you can whip up a mean dish at the last minute with avocados for a shrimp/avocado salad if you have a alpha health nut or shrimp pasta!

2)  Kobe or other high quality red meat–preseason and make into patties, when he comes by you can flip some burgers with the works

3)  Pound cake–it’s an easy dessert to buy and play with; fix it with any flavor ice cream or strawberries and cream for a quick strawberry shortcake

4)  Whole chicken–takes a little longer, but lasts for days, you can season, pop that in the oven, cut up and dice to make fajitas or a nice chicken dinner with biscuits or potatoes w/veggies

5)  Cheese–for that quickie, crispy grilled cheese sandwich your alpha loves at 3am after, uhm, you know, playing chess!

So whatcha’ got in that kitchen?  Next week, more to come.

    Ummmm, I love grilled cheese.

In San Francisco there is a small little establishment called The Bashful Bull that serves the meanest Grilled cheese, avocado, tomato, and pineapple sandwich. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s WONDEFUL!

    Great list!

My ex used to drop all the time unexpected! Then he had the nerve to be hungry. I second the frozen shrimp, it makes any old dish classy, you don’t have to run to the store, i usually make some with some skirt steak for a surf and turf kinda meal, mmmm, I’m hungry! And if you do buy fresh shrimp please use right away like on the grill for spring/summer with a little pineapple glaze… eaasssy!

@THC I think I may have to go to San Fran just for that sammy!

YES Maryann, the food there is marvelous. It’s a small little hole in the wall, but the food is top notch. I actually found the place when it was featured on the Food Network!

    Great spot!

That whole chicken is a good thing because you can do so much with it and save money. I am single and I still make it!

I cooked a healthy meal for my Dad tonight. He is feeling especially lonely because my Mom is out of time.

Here a good one ( not to be done with family LOL)

Season your whole chicken and put it in the oven (don’t look at it again for at least an hour)
Fry some spinach for about 15mins and add coconut milk, let it simmer for 4 more minutes and switch off.

Get a nice tale clothe, nice dishes, your favorite wine glasses and your favorite wine
Set the table (for appearance) but eat in the living room

    Fun and easy!

Great Idea. Now all I have to is to get him to do the cooking.
