On Twitter one day, Fresh from Crunktastical asked would Al qualify as an alphanista. It got me to thinking….
What is one thing you must have to be considered for the Alphanista Hall of Fame? You went from nobody to somebody in 30 seconds. That’s what happened to Al Reynolds when he met and married Star Jones. He used worked photo opportunity to shine and, sometimes, outshine Star herself! Before they met he was an “banker” and they married exactly a year later on November 13, 2004 during a lavish ceremony. Here’s what Al says after their seperation:
If you think you are having a tough day, may I propose you walk in my shoes for a few hours,” he writes. “In my mind, it feels like ‘Dump on Al Month.’ And I’m not having fun yet. I have been called a gigolo, a freeloader, unemployed, a sham and many other things that don’t bear repeating. People on television, radio and the internet have spoken disparagingly of my life, my sexuality, my career and my integrity.
Now, if that doesn’t make an alphanista I don’t know what does! Alphanistas are usually misunderstood. The drama, the complications, the working through it all to come out on top. Is Al on top? Oh yes. Despite the rumors about his sexuality, he will be getting women. He may get more women now than he can handle. Why because his stock is high after being with Star Jones, he has access to resources, maybe a nice divorce settlement and hanging with Al will get you noticed. The tabloids want to keep pushing his “playboy” image for their Star Jones post-divorce story. Look out for that.
He’s something else he said:
What I want people to know is that I am not the caricature portrayed by the media….To me, labels are for clothes, not people. So…..Please don’t try to define me; don’t try to categorize me; and most of all, don’t label me. Instead, JUST GET TO KNOW ME. And if you see me, just call me Al.
Sounds like an alphanista to me!
I nominate him into induction into the Alphanista Hall of Fame. Yay or Nay?

Not at all. All of the media specualtion turned out to be true. He’s on the same level as Lisa Raye which makes him not worthy.
