Well, it’s about time.
Love her or hate her. How many Black women you know can speak Russian, or women, period? Her sexuality is a little subdued for the average alpha female, but we’re gonna put her up on the block anyway.
She was one of the only lone black women in the Bush Cabinet to Bush I and Bush II. She is the second woman to be Secretary of State, not a surprise for an alpha female. Placing herself in new territory and leaving a mark. Whether we agree or not with Condy’s policies and maneuvers isn’t the point. It doesn’t negate that this was a helluva educated, self defined, woman with the perfect flip hairdo, who made history. She was brought up in a middle class home and was trained at the best schools.
Not sure if I could have tea with her and feel comfortable, but she did her thing. I’d listen to her give a speech at a forum, however. Her ratings dipped in the Black community after Katrina. But some say her good rep suffered because of Bush.
I’m also concerned that there was no man ever on the radar, except rumors of a college engagement. However, in the last few years, folks whispered that she was looking “prettier” and dressing “nicer”, so a man had to be in her life. I just think she was just doing an early celebration of her “freedom papers” from the White House. Whatever, it is, she ain’t telling. Just like an alpha she’ll surprise us with the PEOPLE magazine photo spread of a wedding, or a book telling it all.
I nominate her for The Alphanista Hall of Fame. Yay or nay?
